Photo Booth Feels…

I do enjoy the little details and amazing centerpieces I see at the weddings I am hired for. Don't get me wrong, there are some gorgeous ways to express your creativity and love and I am here for it! As guests, we won't remember the chair covers, linens or floral arrangements.

What we do remember is how we felt. Often times I am crying at the site of the groom seeing his wife to be for the first time. My makeup has been ruined while watching the bride dance with her father. There are these moments of laughter, spontaneous silliness and emotion that enthrall me. I, personally, have a hard time expressing myself in words and I love the way my photos all tell a story.

There's one of the flower girl picking her nose nonchalantly. The Mother of the Bride staring in disbelief at what a beautiful woman her daughter has grown into. All of these are touching and sweet. Then I roll up during cocktail hour to start setting up the photo booth. The old timers gather round and ask me what I am doing and why I have so many crazy hats and I tell them to come back in about an hour to see why.

The backdrop goes up and people nod, impressed. Matches the vibe, for sure. The organized box of crazy sunglasses emerges and there are a few laughs. Hats are hung on the rack and guest's point to their favorite. As the signs are displayed laughter erupts.

I was unsure about buying the one that says, "Big Booty Boulevard" but I am so glad I did because it is one of the crowd favorites.

When we are all set up and ready to go we usually ask for volunteers to test the camera and print settings in case we need to tweak anything. The reaction to people seeing their series of photos is priceless! Grandma goes from shy to showstopper! Your auntie may have had a few too many, but we always catch her when she sways a little too far forward. The props people choose represent them and their personalities in every way. This is the memory-generator. It's the "we still talk about that" detail. The photo booth is the story maker.
